Day 333 : Gothic

Today's button is a variation of an earlier button. I first worked the main design a year or so ago, as part of a few for rose windows. I've added additional stitches here to further emphasise the design.

Started on the decorations today. Well, why not! But we've stopped as we need a new string of lights. So we have a part decorated tree at the moment.

Otherwise feeling lazy today. Struggling to do online shopping for everyone on my list. I'll get there in the end.

Day 332 : Sails

The design of today's button reminded me of windmill sails - hence the name. Very late posting today - such a busy day sorting things and being in online help for an issue for ages, generally just one of those days! Nice to relax with a button though, and I enjoyed playing with the wrapping of this so might explore it a bit more.

Before I start - Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the US (and elsewhere) who are celebrating. I do hope that despite covid you manage to have a good day.

Today's button is about texture and design, not colour. I love single coloured thread buttons, from the death's head through to the super complex designs. I like the way the light reflects on the thread as it changes direction, and how the intricacies of the wrapping come to light. Sometimes I forget about this, going for more colours. But using one well is a very mindful task.
