Day 37: Penna
Today's button uses the same techniques as yesterday's - taking a basic wrapped button and embellishing it with additional weaving and stitches. I tend to refer to these in my head as "doodle buttons" - as there is usually no real plan as to the final design.
One of my button making friends, Jutta Kohlbeck, is the real expert at these buttons. Her most recent took over 10 hours - she builds up layer upon layer of stitching and weaving and wrapping to create wonderful little works of art.
I've used a No 3 mould here, and both No 8 and No 12 perle cottons
