Day 278 : Change

Day 278 : Change - One Button a Day 2020 by Gina Barrett

Day 278 : Change

Another doodle button today. This one is worked over a button that I refer to as a four point zwirnknopfe in my Dorset & Other Ring Buttons course. I've then worked additional weaving and wrapping in other colours. I think this really illustrates how you can start with something simple and change it quite a bit. Which of course means that anyone can come up with a totally unique design!

I do hope that you are all having a lovely weekend, and that the coming week is great for you.

  1. I really should wander over to the Facebook group a bit more often - all the beautiful samples you have made for the new range of stamps are just too too utteryly!!!! I am going to have a heck of a good time when I get ahead enough to buy more toys - you both have done such good work. Thank you and Toby, of course! And thanks to Mark's mom for her embroiderey as a young lady.
Not to say I am not quite taken by the last few days doodley buttons - it never ceases to amaze me what a colour change can do.
Don is coiling up the hose so it must be almost walkies time - having to move out at an earlier hour to get even a modicum of vitamin D. Might go get some salad for supper - the market is a mile round trip and as much as I can manage with smoke and stinking miserable heat. We will mask up and stay distanced and stay hydrated, as should you all. Almost-cat will become Mostly-cat when she lets you pet her - something to look forward to while it drizzles on you. Stay warm and well and dry. Charlotte in California xxx

Mind you, I am also quite impressed with your doodly things the last few days - super ranges of colours and good inspiration.

    1. Oh thank you I am glad that you've enjoyed them! There are some lovely people over in the group - do say hi when you next wander over :) Mark's mum passed many years ago now. The oldest piece I have was worked by her mum - she passed at 42 years so the fact that this tablecloth is well patched shows how much it meant to her. A few others are by either of them, sadly I am not sure which, they'd been long put away by the time I saw them. Almost cat moved all of the kitten a couple of days ago - we aren't sure where, and she hasn't been back. Perhaps bringing them for the few days was simply a stopping off point to the nearby woods.

You must be really tired of the smoke. I'll be thinking of you both. Stay well and hydrated xxx
