Day 271 : Noted

Day 271 : Noted

Today's button is a is really a fairly simple one, which is probably why I ended up a little off centre! Not paying attention while I worked the weaving. The initial wrapping was made using the zwirnknopfe technique, but I did use the rounding backstitch for the coverings which is more common with Dorsets of course.

I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend? I haven't quite finished my bookwork - will probably be all week at it! Ah the joys of small business.

  1. I really like that little flick of white around the edge of the face - if you'd only done the rim it wouldn't
have worked - sweet! And I really really feel better about my own skewgee wrapping if yours is a bit off center too.
I am pretty sure there is a way to put the sentence above back together but I sure don't know what it is - sorry.
We had a real proper outing on Saturday - sandwiches and salad and all! Our first since lock-down. There is a beautiful park about 13 miles away that has waterfall, winding stream, romantic bridge, lots of trees, WPA stone work retaining walls and seats - all on a steep slope tucked into the middle of a 1930s development, which means the houses all around the edge are mostly pretty cute. All that fresh air knocked me out - slept like the proverbial baby!
All my shop owner friends over the years have suffered from "book keeping" and you have my deepest sympathies. Hope all the numbers slip into their proper places early in the week!
Stay warm and dry and well, wear the brace and do the exercises, and hugs and cookies all around! Charlotte in California xxx

    1. Oh your outing sounds quite perfect - and needed. Lock-down has made these things quite precious when they happen, don't you think? I know what you mean about the 1930s houses - many years ago we got a selection of architect newspapers from the 40s and there were pages of plans. The houses of the 30s were all so picture-book. I like them. Our first house was built then, with parquetry floors and a lovely pantry.
I hope you are having a lovely day! Stay safe xxx
