Day 155 : Harmony

Today's button is a ring button, zwirnknopfe wrapped style. I placed so many layers that I didn't even blanket stitch the edge in the end - there simply wasn't room! I did make sure that the stitches were secured though, so that they can't slide on the ring. 

What you can't see is the subtle differences in some of the colours. There's a white and slightly darker white, a yellowy brown, a beige with more yellow tones and one with more pink, as well as dark brown and black. They just didn't photograph well, though they can be seen in daylight.

I've used a No 8 and No 12 cotton perle.

Day 154 : Solitary

Today's button certainly classes as a doodle button, as I did not know what I was going to do until it happened. There are wrapped threads, some of which have been over-wrapped. Very meditative. Which was needed, as I was quite worn out yesterday. Am again today, I must be getting old ;) I was originally looking for an amber bead, but actually quite like this one.

I've used a No 3 button mould, covered in silk fabric.

Today's button is very straightforward - I did spend a lot of time prepping yesterday, and must admit I was surprised I was able to come up with an idea. Tonight might be a little harder; it has been a long day.

Thank you to everyone who tuned in to the shows. It was lovely, if a little odd to be back at the studio. I am a little deaf in one ear and it is quite hard to hear someone speaking to you in a live studio quietly, when they are 2m away! I had a green room to myself, and there is a one way system set up in the building. What an odd world we currently live in.

Starting with a No 63 mould , I've wrapped using a basic death's head wrap, changing the colours as I felt like it. The centre can't be fully covered working in this way, so instead I decided to use a needle work technique to fill the area.

I've used perle cotton No 12.
