Day 255 : September
Embroidery for today! The design a taster of things to come.... This has been worked on felt actually, with a hand dyed (I think it might have been described as 'painted' ) perle No 8 thread. There are more gradients of colour than I have been able to pick up in my image though. I have no idea where I got it, but it one of those special ones in my box that I am starting to run out of.
It has been another long week, so I will keep this short this evening.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Size: 30mm / 1 3⁄16" / 48L
Liked the red push pins yesterday - look a bit fiddly but fun to make. Well, except for the fact that each one marks something not fun - goodness, I am gloomy gus this afternoon! And I surely do like the embroidered felt today. I love hand painted perle and have used it on crazy quilt pieces for seam embroidery. And it is such fun to make buttons with - striped deaths heads with no effort!!! Glad the shipment finally came. I know it is hard work to design something, make and test prototypes, get samples from the manufacturer --- you kids have done a terrific job. Thank you. Stay well. Regards to all. C in C xxx
ReplyDeleteSilly question - do you find yourself picking cat hairs from three previous cats off stuff? I am getting ready to hem a runner and I have Bear, Duchess and Spooky all represented. 30 years of cats in one place! Don just told me he ordered me a new laptop-simple and not prone to cease working at any moment. not easy to write when you have to hold the screen at just the right angle with one hand and type with the other. happy weekend, joyful walkies, c in c xx
ReplyDeletep.p.s. or very long brown hair or very long silver ones that I never see until wrapped up in them! XX
ReplyDeleteI totally do. I was just thinking that - I am quite sure that I have pets represented that left us houses ago...
DeleteThere is a kirtle that was found in some dig somewhere (I think Norway, Sweden?) that I heard of many. many years ago. Found with dog hairs in the wool, at dog height along the hem. I like thinking of her dog walking by here side regularly.
I tend to see the most after I've taken a picture with my smart phone. Pop it on computer and bang - there is some offending bit of fluff stitched well in...
I hope the runner turned out. Keep well both, hope that laptop works out! xxx
