Day 196 : Cloudy Day

Day 196 : Cloudy Day - One Button a Day 2020 by Gina Barrett

Day 196 : Cloudy Day

In reality, today's button in only half-done. The pattern for this actually includes a layer of bullion stitches over the top of this fretwork design. I thought the design was pretty enough on it's own - with the exception of the area where the rows change. Being covered by the bullion stitches there would have been no need to make it as tidy as it probably should be (and mine isn't - having made no adjustments to the pattern!) .

I then added some weaving with a cotton chenille thread from my stash. I haven't done anything like that before and really like it! Next time silk chenille perhaps?

Today I lost my last pair of glasses. Well, hopefully I've only put them down somewhere at work, but I've not got them with me at home. And as these are my 'spare' it is time for the optician. Thank goodness we can go again! I have currently got a really old pair of over the counter "reading" glasses on, and it really isn't the best solution.

Size : 23mm / 7⁄8" / 36L

  1. I'll bet the chenille makes this a particularly tactile button and silk would be even more so! Charlotte in Califoria
