Day 174 : Knoll .
Today's button was, I thought, going to be a little different. I used a punch needle - I'm not very practised with this tool, but I do enjoy the process. I have a vintage set, with different sizes of needle, but for this used a modern version. The grey parts in between are straight and split stitches.
But, I'm looking at this and thinking, I've done this already. Check this year - no, I haven't, not really. I kept thinking it looked a bit like moss. And that was the answer. During my 2016 challenge, Day 270 - Moss. Actually really similar. That one is worked on grey silk fabric, with only a small amount of embroidery (which was not done with a punch needle). Interesting. Perhaps something I should develop a little further, if only in my sketchbooks...
